A generous grant from the McKeown Foundation allowed us to create The McKeown Center at Christ’s Home in 2016. This facility provides a space for members of the Christ’s Home community, the community at large, and Christ’s Home staff to conduct training and connection. One of the most important initiatives was to create a place for a support group to meet to help families managing with Alzheimer’s. This group has been meeting at least monthly, sometimes twice a month, since The McKeown Center opened. Participants from the surrounding area have found encouragement through these meetings, which are provided at no charge. Similarly, a Griefshare Program now meets regularly to help individuals adjust to life after a spouse or other

loved one has passed away. This has become a valued program, especially for the senior Christ’s Home residents who have shared 40, 50, sometimes 60 or more years of marriage. In addition, The McKeown Center hosts all New Employee Orientation session for Christ’s Home, as well as ongoing required training for our staff. The McKeown Center has become a valued resource for Christ’s Home and the broader community. We are grateful for the ongoing support of the McKeown Family and the Foundation.
